The seventh edition of the 16mm Immersive Laboratory at Casa do Xisto marked the beginning of a new collaboration with Barlos, a cultural initiative that has been establishing itself as a platform for encounter between contemporary artistic practices, territory and community in the municipality of Barcelos.

This partnership represented a direct engagement with the local context in which Casa do Xisto is situated, in Macieira de Rates, strengthening its connection to the territory and promoting the circulation of the works developed in the laboratory among new audiences. The films produced during this edition were presented publicly as part of the Barlos event in September, through a 16mm screening.

The presentation also featured a live performance by Lula Pena, who provided a sound accompaniment to the films, creating an immersive moment that brought together image, sound and space. This edition consolidated the project’s territorial and performative dimension, affirming Casa do Xisto as an active agent within the cultural life of the region.
