The fourth edition of the 16mm Immersive Laboratory at Casa do Xisto marked a turning point in the project’s trajectory, establishing itself as the first laboratory fully dedicated to eco-processing. Led by Ricardo Leite, with the assistance of Juliana Julieta, this edition deepened the research into sustainable film processing practices, completely eliminating the use of toxic chemicals and prioritising natural and biodegradable solutions.

This edition also marked the beginning of a partnership with Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival, through which the films produced in the laboratory were screened as part of the festival’s 2023 programme, further strengthening the project’s visibility within the auteur and experimental film circuit.
